Admission Requirements for Nigerian Students

After filling out the necessary university application forms (usually online), Swiss universities accept the following admission qualifications or their equivalents:

  • For a diploma or degree in computer science: A secondary school certificate (WAEC or NECO/GCE or their equivalent) with a high score level in the science subjects will suffice;
  • For master’s degree in computer science: A bachelor’s degree in related field, plus CV and statement of purpose.
  • Proof of English language proficiency (for those who wish to study in English). This could be either a TOEFL or IELTS certification.
  • In most cases, you will take an entrance examination before your application for admission is considered.

 

Student visa process

You will need a Type D student visa to study in Switzerland. You can only make an application once you have received a letter of admission from a recognized university in Switzerland. Processing time for student visas take anywhere from 6 months prior to when you are to start your study in Switzerland. It takes around 8-10 weeks to process your student visa.
